Dr. Mingu Jumaan is the Director of the Sabah State Computer Services Department. He also acts as State ICT Chief Security Officer, Chairman of the Sabah Government Computer Emergency Response Team (sgCERT), Chairman of the State Public Sector ICT Technical Committee, Head of the Secretariat for the State Public Service ICT Security Working Committee, Head of the Secretariat for the State Public Service Chief Information Officers (CIO), and Chairman of the NEHAP (National Environmental Health Action Plan) Sabah Chapter - ICT Thematic Working Group. Besides that, he is a member in a number of committees related to IT development and implementation for the state public sector. He initiated in crafting and formulating the State Public Sector ICT Security Policy, and also involved in a number of implementation of cyber security projects for the State public sector. He has also been involved in delivering many talks on ICT at local and international seminars and conferences.
He is a member of a Malaysian National Computer Confederation (MNCC). His academic qualifications include Bachelor of Science (Computer Science & Applied Mathematics) from Western Michigan University, USA, Master of Science (Computer Science) from Central Michigan University, USA and Ph.D (Computer Science) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He is a qualified ISMS ISO 27001 Lead Auditor. He has been awarded ASEAN Honoree Award for Distinguished CSO (Chief Security Officer) 2012, ASEAN Honoree Award for Distinguished CIO (Chief Information Officer) 2015, and 2016 (ISC)2 Asia-Pacific ISLA Honoree Award for Distinguished Senior Information Security Professional.
