Border Management & Technologies Summit Asia 2017

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
7th November 2017 - 9th November 2017

Chris Hurrey

Chris regards himself as being lucky enough to have been at the start of the technical revolution in border crossing technology, having worked on computerisation, eBorders and automated border control. Since leaving the UK’s border authority as Assistant Director after 34 years of service in late 2010 Chris has worked as a freelance consultant in border control technology in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, the Middle East, North & East Africa, the Caribbean and the UK.

His specialty is the application of science - hard and soft - and technology to border control and similar problems. Currently he is coordinating stakeholder interaction and innovation in PROTECT, a EU Horizon 2020-funded project on 'contactless' border controls.
